A chef who paired for a living
Jeff Farlow has cooked professionally for more than 25 years, 20 of them at Wente Vineyards, where he finished as Culinary Director. Two decades of matching food to wine, now applied to beer.
Meet Jeff
Every pie is built for a beer style. Every beer on draft is brewed within about 90 minutes of the door. And the chef pairing them spent 20 years doing exactly that for a winery.
Why Pairfield
Three things you will not get from a chain, and most taprooms cannot offer either.

Meet Jeff48hours
Our dough ferments for about 48 hours before it sees the oven. That gives a crust that is crisp outside, tender and airy inside, and easier on you than dough made the same day.

What's pouring
Meet the chef
Jeff has been a chef for more than 25 years. For 20 of them he was at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, finishing as Culinary Director over the winery restaurant, the catering operation and the culinary side of Murrieta's Well. Pairing was the daily job.
His two passions were always craft beer and artisan pizza, so putting them on one menu was the first idea, and the reason for the name. Every dish here is built to complement or contrast a style of beer, the same way he built wine pairings for two decades.
“I've been a chef for 25 years, much of it at a winery, doing wine and food pairings and always wishing I was pairing beer and food. This has turned into a platform for that.”
Jeff Farlow, chef-owner
Our mission: To provide a comfortable and inviting environment to hang and celebrate life's milestones, even the challenges, through the pairing of amazingly wholesome food, beverages, music, family and friends.
Jeff's full storyThe pizza
Each pie is designed to complement or contrast a style of beer, not one particular beer, so the pairing still holds when the keg changes. The style is printed under every dish on the menu, and under every beer on the board, so you can match them from either direction.
Pairs with a West Coast IPA
Onion, bell pepper, mushroom, olive, pepperoni and fennel-pork sausage on tomato sauce.
Pairs with a hefeweizen
Butter-chili sauce, tandoori chicken, fresh jalapeño, onion, cucumber raita and cilantro.
Pairs with a pilsner
Cupping pepperoni, pepperoncini, a Calabrian chili crust and a chipotle-maple drizzle.
Ask your server for the pairing
Any sauce, any cheese, any toppings, on the same 48-hour dough. Tell us what you built and we will point you at a beer.
On tap
Jeff builds the board by style first, not by brewery: a kölsch, a pilsner, a lager, a hazy, a double IPA, something dark, something sour. Then he finds the brewery within reach that does that style best.
The board rotates constantly, so treat this as a snapshot. For what is pouring right now, check our Untappd board or call (925) 475-5222.
The full tap listA few from the board
One beer from each part of the board. Drive times are from the brewery's home town to ours.

“Great Pizza! We loved getting pizza from here. Nice large and very clean restaurant. They have a bar and plenty TVs to watch. Service was fast and easy. Crust was not super thin but not thick so that was great. We can't wait to go back!!”
